Why dance photography?
Dance is movement, and photography can capture only static moments no? But those static moments are ephemeral and exist for just a split second and cannot be fully seen by the human eye unaided. The dynamic and kinetic nature of live performance (or video) is beautiful yes. But an isolated moment captured in a photograph allows the viewer time and leisure to take in and contemplate beauty in the geometry of human form, costume and space, and the visual interactions and meanings that arise between them.
